Mellieha is a nice resort with the biggest beach in Malta and has a good selection of bars / resaurants and cafes. Sliema is a lovely town with all the eating places you need but it does not have a beach although it does have a nice seafront with marina and a flat promenade right round to St Julians, the nightclub / disco centre of the island.
